A HEART”S SUBJUGATION

In Romantic, Uncategorized on January 26, 2013 at 1:48 pm

After leading my heart into subjugation
How should you reward my eagerness
For surely without any provocation
You have caused a psychological crisis

Yet the emotional appeal of the moment
Fills my mind with a certain fascination
Where from yesterdays fears I may repent
To kindle within, the embers of my feelings

For yesterday I fathered a faintness of heart
Which caused me to have a coldness of feet
But this morning I gave birth to a heart of oak
That now fills my spirit with a new tenacity

So now I may cast all pretensions aside
As this day we may together begin
For I no longer want to participate alone
In a game of only one heart’s subjugation.

About these ads
  1. As my faith grows, I noticed the more doubts erupt along my path. Thank you for reflecting this so eloquently.

I wanted to formally bestow my nomination to you for the Blog of the Year 2012. Your blog is an inspirational reflection of deep Christian faith, which challenges and solidifies my love for the Lord.

May God continue to your mind, body and soul with an increase of light.

Your nomination can be found here: http://wp.me/p19WAK-is

    • In the third paragraph I meant to type: “May God continue to bless your mind, body and soul with an increase of light.”

      Sorry about the typo.

    • Doubts will always present theirselves to you to try to throw you off track! When i even feel doubt, i think of God, because with Him there is never a need to worry! Dear sister you lift my heart and I do read your comments and all that you write. You are a blessing. When you begin to write sharing your love for the lord with others and all of your messages that lift and inspire, you really become the enemy of the evil one! So he will come at you just like everyone in the bible. But remember Gods power is your power and His spirit lives within you, as your shield and armor. Thanks ever so much for the light you bring to our blog world! You are a precious jewel, never let that slip away! God bless and thanks again for the blessing and nomination!

      • Wow! You have overwhelmed my heart with joy. Each time I log on to WP, I check my Reader to read your new posts.
Whenever the enemy attacks, I know God is about to bestow a massive dose of favor.
Keep writing and posting. Your are bringing many souls to God and inspiring others to seek the light.

  2. Awesome Wendell. I like these ones from the bell bottom days :D
    God bless!

  3. ……….such is the wonder of the spirit coming truly awake. I love this, Wendell. Even then, you knew……. ~ Love, Bobbie

    • And even whether I was good or bad, I always felt his spirit trying to guide me the right way…all the time. But as we grow we understand the choices are our and with the wrong choice there is always a price to pay. But God is good! Bobbie you always make me think and yet i always anxiously await your comments because you always share a pure knowledge. Thanks for always blessing me dear sister! Much love to you always!

  4. My fave stanza is “For yesterday I fathered a faintness of heart….” That is so perfect, and heartfelt!! God bless you and your family, Wendell–love, sis Caddo

    • When something happens fast when it has to do with the heart, we sometimes hesitate and flounder, we are sometimes doubtful the other person is telling the truth, we both were like that, and yet all we did first was become friends and really get to know each other without really touch except holding hands occasionally. Nothing was given up first because real trust had to be established…and it worked out for us. Many blessings to you Caddo, I always enjoy your thoughts my sister! God bless!

  5. An all together great poem. Wow! Thank you for sharing your gift.

    • My sister I have been married for over 34 years and it never changes only gets better, her smile still takes my breath away! So I share many romantic poems written over the years. You lift me with your words again, thanks for your blessing!

  6. Awesome one. I smell like you’ve revived the time when I was not even present in this world. :D *Tehee :P * But yes, these words made me live the mislaid past here in this very hour of present.
This is a nice piece. :)

  7. When i first met my wife, i was captured by her smile and her eyes and i have written thousands of poems since then for her! She has inspired me greatly! I think if i ever pass she can hear my words everyday! God bless!

  8. Another beauty in every aspect, Wendell! ♥

  9. it’s awesome to read something like this,I feel the love from every lines… beautiful and a gift… thanks Wendell for always sharing the inspiration…

  10. So wonderful to know He’s always willing to forgive as quick as we ask! For his arm is always outstretched !

  11. Your poem arrives with peace and love. It ends calmly with simplicity of heart. You know the words of life, Wendell. a beautiful picture. I’m glad I visited you after long time.

  12. Very sweet and heartfelt…

  13. This is a bit late in the coming from my side coz i delayed in posting the nomination…I have also nominated you for the “Blog of the year 2012″ award…..I can see that you have already won six stars….so six more from me.:)

  14. I find this poem to be translucent, when I read it, one can see a future. Outstanding.

  15. Awards are wonderful when they are received but more than that, the thought is what is so meaningul. It shows the caring selfless spirit of the person who gives it to us, and they become a treasure to us! The old saying, ‘its the thought that counts,’ is so very true. There are still quite a few who do not have any or one star, and i am late in answering quite a few awards so I will have to get busy! Thanks for blessing my day dear sister!
