“Always Well”

I went to the  Doctor the other day
Her prognosis might make another faint
But when she broke the news to me
A certain calm on my face the lord did paint

For she saw a certain calm come about me
Which she did not realize came from within
For He who alone sits on my hearts throne
Had already made the healing this day to begin

I sought out the Lord a few days ago
When the first symptoms did arise
And his spirit immediately assured me
That He would never leave my side

He reminded me that glorious day
He would never give me more than I can bear
That just like when dear Daniel began to pray
His answer that day was already here

And my heart was confident in His love
That I will never deal with this alone
For within the place where others cannot see
My Lord has always made his home

So  though my flesh fades away each day
And in the future will turn to dust
The Lord my God removed all of my fears
For in His promise alone is placed my trust

And whatever maladies may confront me
His healing powers will sustain me well
For His grace made me a true overcomer
For with the Lord, I know I am always well.

  4. I love this, Wendell. It reminds me of the story of Haratio Spafford, the writer of the hymn “It is Well With My Soul”. If you don’t know the story, you should look it up. It will change your understanding of the song. When at his darkest hour, he knew from where comfort would come. ~ Much love and strength to you, dearest Wendell. ~ Love, Bobbie
